35 years on Inglewood Ave: a Hawthorne shop story
We opened in 1991 with one bay, one lift, and a hand-painted sign. Thirty-five years later we're still on the same block — and a lot of our first customers are still bringing us their cars.
What stayed the same
Honest work. Written estimates. Showing the customer the worn part before we replace it. Telling someone they don't need a service when they don't.
What changed
Cars got dramatically more complex. A 1991 Civic had a couple of sensors. A 2026 Civic has dozens of computers talking to each other. We've invested heavily in scan tools, ADAS calibration, and training — because the alternative is guessing.
Why we still love it
Every car has a story. Every customer has a budget and a timeline. Our job is to give honest information so you can make the right call — whether that's a full repair, a temporary fix, or telling you the car isn't worth saving.
Thanks for 35 years, Hawthorne. We're not going anywhere.
